We are no strangers to The Pasta Loft in Milford, NH. Its actually to the point where they know our voice when we call to order our favorite “working late in studio” meal, the chicken broccoli Alfredo pizza with cheese bread. With all the takeout we enjoy, we felt it was time for a change, and decided to swing in for an impromptu lunch.
We decided to try something different this time, taking a break from their incredibly brick oven fired pizza and go with the lunch express menu. To start we went with the grilled chicken nachos. The first thing you notice is the sheer size of this dish! What an amazing portion of food, great flavor, crisp spicy nacho chips, and for once, a restaurant provided me with an adequate amount of sour cream, which is rare.
After absolutely destroying the plate of nachos, our express lunch items were served. I went with the chicken broccoli Alfredo and my guest went with the lasagna. The express lunch portions were just perfect and came to the table in no time at all, the perfect option for when you are under a time budget. The waitress/bartender was accommodating enough to let me substitute angel hair pasta, which I’m just a huge fan of, and that was a plus for me. The Alfredo was light and not overpowering in seasoning and flavor, which is just perfect. The lasagna had a great hint of fresh basil and was packed with sausage, and accompanied by a generous amount of fresh, soft Italian bread.
To close out lunch, we had a hard time deciding between the tiramisu and the turtle cheesecake, but finally decided on the latter, and it was a deliciously perfect decision. The turtle cheesecake at the pasta loft is an amazing combination of soft, smooth, creamy cheesecake topped with sweet caramel and fresh, crunchy nuts. With a cookie crust, the portion is easily big enough to feed two, and is our clear favorite for a future visit.
The Pasta Loft in Milford, NH is one of those perfect small town restaurants that has a wonderful, warm, and family feel to it, as if every time you walk through the door, your walking into a friends dining room. And a big thank you to our amazing waitress/bartender, who has a rare ability to make people feel at home and special, all while waiting on an entire bar of guests all by herself.
